why is lockout light on my boiler?

i have a worcester heatslave 20/25 oil boiler and the lockout light has come on and now the water will not heat up. any help with this will be appreciated.

It may have overheated or run out of oil..hopefully
there is a red button on the burner lit at the moment press it and the burner should try to start. if no joy give it another min or two and try again if this does not work ring boiler repairman and get him to give it a service. ps when trying to restart make sure the time clock or booster button is on

OK, have you tried for a re-start?
If you do this, the fan should run for a few seconds, then the oil is switched on electrically before the thing will go. If your pump is a Danfoss type (with a number like BFP21) there is a coil that sits on the side of the pump that fails frequently...I'll need more info to help you further.

there is no aluminium cover to pull clear

Tracey Williams, July 2009
Expose the burner which is under an aluminium cover inside the boiler. The cover just pulls clear. Press the illuminated red light to try for a re-start. If no joy, post back?
