How can I fix my Hoover Steam-Vac Model F7458-900?

Brushes will not spin. Are they belt driven? Unit will dispense and pick up water. No brush spin at any setting. Could it be that the switch is bad?

tom am having the same problem.I took out the bottom tank and noticed the spring on the on off switch 4 the brushes wasn`t connected.Took a good flash light and magnifying glasses 2 see,but I can`t figure out how 2 get the top housing off to reconnect.
