how can I get rid of air and banging in my C H system?

how can I get rid of air and banging in my C H system?
banging noises in the pipe between the boiler Glow-worm55F and pump Granfos when the boiler heats up and then
water pours out of the overflow pipe and drain the upstairs radiator.
now as soon as the boiler heats up it bangs away and shut down.

the answer depends on whether the air is trapped in a high point ie-pipe work rises and falls on the flow and return circuit or the radiator flow and return circuit, or whether your radiators just need to be bled. if your boiler is a combi it is most likely to just need rads bleeding ( because these systems are under mains pressure it will automatically push any air to the tops or the radiators) any problems email me at philbroxx2@tiscali.co.uk ok good luck .phil
