can a puncture in a leather chair be repaired?

there is a hole in the arm of our leather chair which looks as if caused by a sharp instrument ie a knife, can this be repaired
tom hoey, August 2009
yes, a weld repair can be done, a strong fabric type patch is bonded to the underside of the hole, then flexible filler is added and built up to fully seal the hole, setting with a hot iron, it is then re grained to match the original, the leather colour is mixed and applied, once dried a sealant is applied to keep the colour from wearing. this can be done in your room, within the hour.
