checked fuse on pcb and I managed to blow it,so power was getting to pcb. control panel had no signs of life even before I blew fuse, so does it mean a new pcb needed to fix problem

fuse on pcb was ok but have now blown it, it proved power was reaching pcb but not now. I have replaced fuse and power is passing through fuse but no power is now reaching boiler on/off switch. Does a faulty pcb look like the problem to no life in control panel.

try changing the fuse on the main pcb. if still not working then suspect main pcb faulty as they're notoriously faulty.
