Halyard wrap on Beneteau 361?

Hi can anyone help with the following. On my Beneteau Oceanis 361, the Genoa Halyard keeps wrapping itself around the system at the top and despite numerous attempts to adjust this ,it just keeps happening and verytime someone has to go aloft to clear it.Any suggestions ?

Instal the halyard deflector or lift the genoa a bit higher, closer to the sheaves but instal the extension on the bottom of genoa

I have had the same problem with my Oceanis 361 and after I had tried a few things myself without success,I called my local rigging experts.Give these guys a call : Rigmasters(UK)Ltd 02380 511929 They are ever so helpful and managed to sort my problem very quick and at resonable cost.

Hi, perhaps the following will help.It sounds like you there is a problem with the lead of the halyard. Is there a halyard-guide fitted to the mast (about 10" below the exit sheave ) in line with the exit for the sheave ? If not , I would suggest to fit a guider. It is not an expensive item and can be fitted easily with taps or rivets .The guider will ensure a clean run to the sheave and also keep the halyard away from the section when it turns.Hope this helps.
