can play playstation 1 games perfectly but wont play playstation 2 games or dvds whats the problem

I assume The discs are blue on the back, this is a common fault, the voltage to the cd lens has dropped, its an easy repair for those in the know. There are plenty of instructions on the web, try googling ps2 wont play blue discs
