cuisinart 600bc coffee maker. Why would the grinder holder not pop open ?

The Grinder Cup holder wont pop open .Never had this problem with this coffee maker before today .It's kind of a surprise for something thats gooten some good reviews .I just wish i knew what happenend and why it wont open all of a sudden.
