Waste light always on?

De Longhi Magnifico ESAM4200
Happened after cleaning
The waste light stays on permanently and the machine does nothing.
The sensor switch at the rear of the bin seems to be working (light sequence changes to waste and error lights alternating) and the door closed sensor works (goes back to solid waste light.
