Very often the socket has gradually worked loose from the soldered joints on the circuit board due to constant pressure from the cable. Carefully remove the back of the player and make note of all the cable connections.Remove the circuit board to access the soldered side of the plug socket. Then carefully re-solder the two joints removing the soldering iron as soon as the solder melts. Dipping the tip of the soldering iron in flux will help the solder run better into the joint .
