How do I keep the flames on in my Ideal Mexico Super RS 65?

Gas water heater, an Ideal Mexico Super RS 65, clicks off between two seconds and two minutes of being ignitied. All the flames go out, including the pilot light. I can get tepid water after constantly igniting it but I am getting on a bit and cannot keep getting down on my hands and knees. PLEASE advise. Thank you.

I have "checked the pump", that is, I have unscrewed the big screw and clear water dripped out - I screwed the small screw inside about 20 times clockwise, turned power on and by torch light I can see that the inside is whizzing around. I am guessing that the pump is working! The gas is still clicking off after a few seconds. Any other suggestings, please.
