Problem with ent button on CR V sat/nav?

Hi, can anyone help, I have a 2004 Honda CR V EX my problem is when I press the ent button it jumps all over the place and will not settle on a letter, I have tried my hardest to press the ent button in the centre to no avail it just jumps up or down, as any one else experienced this
