the above player switches ON with green light showing, when thew DVD disc is place onto the platter and the lid closed, play is pressed but nothing happens, no screen title is shown, or picture displayed. just nothing happens, yet the power light is lit!! what can I do to repair this fault.

Hi I have just been given this dvd player with the same fault to see if I could fix it.There is a small switch on the left hand side which will turn the screen on or off, try moving it.
