chkdsk c:/f?

when i run that command from dos prompt and it says it will run on next restart it fails to do so.What am I doing wrong.I am trying to fix a corrupt file called:tzk9.tmp.Until I fix this, defragmenter will not work.My computer is a Dell,XPS Dimensions

Hi Alexander,

I am assuming from what you have asked you have windows 98. If that being the case. goto c:\windows (maybe in windows\system) and locate sfc.exe
This is the system file checker. Any of the main system files which are corrupt can be replaced by running this.

From memory I cannot remember whether or not you need the win98 disc.
