Vivitar X30 POWER?

I have a newish (hardly used) Vivitar X30 (out of warranty), it will turn on correctly if I have the power lead plugged in, as soon as I remove the power lead the Camera switches off and will not switch back on using the battery power.
I have tried the battery in another Vivitar camera I have and it works OK.
Please advise
Thanks Tony

In additon to the last message I posted.... My friend bought the battery from Ebay which comes with it's own independent battery charger. If your battery is found to be in working order and the camera charger is faulty...you'll have 2 working batteries.

Not a bad fix for under £13

Try buying a new battery, a friend of mine had the same problem with the X30....his battery wasn't holding charge.
