boiler fires up and runs normaly for 4 mins and then locks out suspect photocell can you test it or do you replace

I have left my Merlin Boiler on a timer switch whilst I was away, but I switched off the water that fed the boiler by accident and now it is not working - have I done something serious ?? (or is it just a fuse somewhere ?)

I suggest checking the fuel filters not forgetting the one in the fuel pump or blocked or damaged fuel pipe.
Which burner is fitted to yours?

The photocell can be checked with a multimeter set to ohms dark = high resistance bright light ie light bulb should give low reading
