how can I stop the fan from running constantly on a kitchenaid microwave?

the convection fan turns on at will and can run for days at a time for no apparent reason. this is a kitchenaid convection microwave khmc106

The oven temperature sensor has a feature where it will run until your oven is cool, then it shuts off the cooling fan. On your unit the oven temperature sensor has either gone totally bad or has changed in value to where it thinks the inside of your unit is still hot, so it continually runs the fan to try to cool it down. The only solution is to replace the oven temperature sensor. It is also called the thermistor.

You have three microswitches that work in conjunction with your door latch and it sounds like one of them is stuck in the closed position, this is a job for a skilled professional due to the fact that lethal voltages exist inside unit (4000 volts unplugged) and also a leakage test must be done afterwards using a calibrated radiation leak detector. So I recommend you turn it in for repair.
