GoVideo DVR/VCR player reading disc error?

I have 2 GoVideo DVD/VCR players that will not work. They read disc error. Are they fixable at a reasonable price?

I am having the same problem. Bought new brand new DVDs, and the Go Video will not read the disk. I really don't want to have to go out and buy all new systems. Anyone have any ideas?
