My patio heater starts with no problem, but will shut itself off after very few minutes. It will usually start again, only to shut itself off in a couple of minutes. I don't know who made it.
Try looking at the thermocouple, this is usually the thing that goes first on patio heaters. Take a look at patioheaters4u.com they have help pages and good advice.
