Evaporator removal on zx99/5w?

Hi,

Have a problem similar to many others. Zanussi zx99/5w fridge/freezer. Freezer ok, fridge too warm. Evaporator iced up, air ducts iced up. Defrosted and fridge working again but I know this is only temp solution. Checked defrost heater and although the outer sheath ruptured the heater was ok- 43.5 Watts 1250 Ohms. I need to check thermistors and overheat thermostat and possibly replace. My problem is how to remove the evaporator to gain access to the sensors without damaging the refrigerant supply pipe that feeds the evaporator. The evaporator cant be pulled forward without putting undue strain and possibly bending and fracturing the supply pipe.

Any ideas.

Mike.the big copper pipe down the back will allow the unit to come right out.it sounds and looks scary but I have never broken or fractured one!.to help you drop the plastic tray and evapourator down remove the draw slides mounted to the side of the freezer cabinet.2 pozi screws and pull away from the side.this will then let it drop.if you read the heat value from the connector in the back then you have tested the cutouts so the only thing it can be is the air and evapourator sensors.these come as a loomed pair and have to both be replaced.Make sure the fan rotates as well as this can cause freezing issues
