After turning on projector, all fans run, lamp attempts
to strike, but no joy it turns off after 30 seconds,
led on rear of projector blinks red once every 2 secs.
could this be a faulty lamp, door cover and lamp seem
to be seating correctly.

Hi Steve,
The powering-up and shutting down, sounds like an air intake problem. This can happen when vents are blocked. The projector will shut itself down to prevent overheating.The smallest amount of dust can cause this(even dust from cigarette smoke). Thoroughly clean all external vents and also dust-out internally if needed.
