swift flow e 80 fan or something else?

the fan on my glow worm sw 80 doesnt start when I switch on the boiler - the pilot light dosnt come on either. can i assume the fan bearings have gone?

it could be that the fan has jammed,

i just put wd40 on mine the got it going again,
i`ve been told that the fan controls afew things on the boiler including the pilot light.
