Hotpoint FFA74 Red High Temp light for freezer keeps coming on?

HOTPOINT Upright Fridge/Freezer Model FFA74 3 years old. Red High temp warning light for Freezer came on,turned control setting from 3 up to 4 and brought temperature down to -20C. Red light went out but motor now running constantly.Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
