I have vokera excell sp80 and the hot water will only run if I remove the front cover from the burner it is as though its not getting enough air ?

Dont leave the front cover off your boiler - thats actually quite dangerous. Probably your airflow switch is not operating, because of a blocked flue, slow fan or broken differential air pressure switch. Most likely a dirty flue venturi though. You should get a corgi man to sort it.
