hi i have a ravenheat boiler rsf 84et not firing up?

when i turn on the hot water or the central heating,the fan starts up and the pilot egnition fires and lights the pilot light but then clicks of again not firing the main burner and then just repeats itself.an engineer recons the gas valve has gone but has only been fitted for four days from new any answers.
also when you turn off the cold water tap the boiler clicks as if you have turned on the hot water tap,any ideas , thanks

i have a ravenheat RSF84ET but cannot get hot water without central heating being turned on ,can anyone shed any light on what the problem could be.

The obvoius answer here is to call ravenheat or the fella who fitted the new gas valve.

Can you clarify? If the pilot isn't on it sounds like the thermocouple is not getting hot enough for the boiler to stay lit. The thermocouple it a thermostat that sits in the middle of the flame of the pilot light & has to be at a certain temp for the boiler to fire up.

If you mean the pilot is lit & the boiler tries to fire up the main burner though won't, it could be a vntilation issue. Check your outside pipe is not blocked? Else get a professional in cos the gas bits shouldn'd be messed with. Might be something to do
