How to fix my microwave?

i have a russell hobbs microwave oven HOB SMS21.The plate has stopped revolving.It is very stiff to move manually.Any ideas?

Normally there is a motor controlling the plate. Quite often spillages and food (and just usage) can clog up the motor and stop it working. I had to replace mine after 4 years.
