Why wont my bedroom light work?

The bulb went in my bedroom light tripping all the lights in the house. I replaced the bulb but it still wont work, I tried two other bulbs to be sure. The other lights in the house all work fine.

Sometimes, especially on the 2 pin baynonet type lampholder, the springs inside the connection pins loose their temper. (not get annoyed! but lose their springiness). Be sure to SWITCH OFF AT THE MAINS before checking this and replace the lampholder if either of the pins do not contract and return easily when pushed. A similar fault can occur with screw in ES lampholders.

check the connections in the light fitting are done up properly and the wires aren't damaged.
If they seem fine check the connections in the switch.
