If your screen is magnetised noticeable by coloured
patches on the screen it probable that the Thermistor in the power supply has failed these are relativly cheap and can be recognised as a white plastic cone
soldered to the circuit board via 3 legs

Please observe caution as high voltages can still be present even if the power is disconnected

TVs have a degaussing coil around the outside of the screen - near the front. When you switch on you can sometimes hear a clunk ar the degaussing coil is activated.

If your TV does not degauss itself after several power cycles you can place it front to front against a working TV and switch the other one on and off a few times - the field from TV A will be (should be) strong enough to degauss TV B.
