Ferroli Optimax HE 31 C, how do I put water pressure up?

Boiler is 4 weeks old and the water pressure is too low and I now have no heating. Does anyone have any idea how to up the water pressure? Tried all the knobs underneath the boiler and checked the instruction manual which is extremelly unclear. Help!!!

Hi the black inlet knob is solid and will not turn so unable to screw it. Just had boiler engineer in charged a fortune and he has left it this tight whereas previously when water pressure was a problem we just unscrewed it. Don't ever think to buy this Ferroli it has given us hell and we have spent a fortune, should have replaced it and its only three years old. Whoever designed this needs.... thank you for any suggestions on undoing this black knob, hugely appreciated as no hot water or heating.

Hi M C did you get it sorted? im having the same problem, ive tried both black knobs and there's no water coming out. I'm desperate to get it back on, really grateful to any replies

Same problem, manual useless, thank goodness for this site.

same problem, thanks Jim what u said fixed it. I found locating the black valve really hard as i thought a valve was like the blue one next to it- not a round thing. Now it is saying D2 but when i put the temperature up it seem to be fine again. Dundee in January, not the best time for a boiler break down. manual was hopeless.

Just faced this problem myself. This is how to do it.

Turn the boiler OFF at the mains switch.
The only valves that need to be touched are the black ones.
Open one fully and start to unscrew the second.
You will hear a hiss. This is the sytem filling. Speed of fill depends on how far you open the valve. Takes a minute or less. Watch the guage under the right front and turn off at 1.5 bar.

Turn both black valves to OFF and switch the boiler back on. Check the pressure after a while to make sure its stable. Job done.

Hi guys - so glad to have found this!

I tried doing the above and the gauge didn't even flinch and I was concerned to leave it open for so long. I bled a radiator last night (which had a lot of air in it) and therefore the pressure has gone.

How long do you usually have to keep the valve open for? Are we talking seconds or minutes?

Thanks guys

Just found this reply on Google and it's sorted my problem out so thank you very much. The screen on the front told me I had a F37 problem and the manual told me what I needed to do (fill the system) but gave me no idea how to do that! Thank you very, very much! :-)

Thank you - saved me from a very cold night!! Agree - manual as much use as a chocolate teapot.

The only valves you touch when topping up with water are the black ones. firstly turn the one at the front half a turn then other half a turn you will hear the system fill up. check the valve and turn of when it gets to 1.5 bar then close the other black valve.

Look under the boiler on the right hand side and there is a water pressure dial. Just under that is a black valve. Open the valve until the pressure goes up to between 1 and 1.5 and then close the valve. The boiler should reset itself after a couple of minutes.

Having the same trouble myself. Tried the 2 blue taps, but there's no water coming out. Instruction manual is useless.
