curtains?

I have four metre drop curtains hung from a wooden pole with a centre bracket and a bracket at each end. In the past they brought the pole down were put up again and have just about held. I now want to replace them with a slightly heavier pair. How can I ensure that the poles are fixed strongly enough to bear the weight? I feel the present arrangement is not enough.

You need to ensure the mounting brackets are fixed into the house fram especially on the ends where main weight occurs when opened. The intermediate or middle bracket also needs to be reinforced as this usally sits on the window architrave which is not fixed into the frame at this point. Also you may to add additional brackets to assist in weight bearing.
