it is poss that you have your monitor set too high if there are controls on the monitor try to bring the height down to see if that brings the start menu back you can access the start menu by pressing the windows key (the one with the flag on) it is also possible that your settings on your graphics card is wrong if it has its own settings program you should be able to access this by right clicking on an empty part of the desktop and select properties then settings the advanced and look to see if there is a monitor set up in there i hope this is of some help if not come back and tell me how you got on and we will look into it further
