why dose a pop-up come up every time i run a profile?

when i am in yahoo messenger and try to do a profile i always get a pop-up saying "microsoft internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" and than my computer locks up/?

GO TO INTERNET OPTIONS,CLICK ON POP UP BLOCKER SETTINGS, AND THEN CLICK TURN OFF POP UP BLOCKER
