boiler trouble?

Hi,

my gas boiler (myson marathon) has stopped heating water...

the pilot light is on.
the appearance of the pilot does not change when i turn the boiler on
electrical power is getting into the boiler
the pump comes on when i switch boiler on.
the thermostat is working ( i removed it and tested it for continuity)
i'm assuming its the solenoid ( it can't be anything else !)

is this easy to replace ? could it just be stuck?

any ideas welcome !

i shoukd opoint out that i used to be an electronics engineer, so i'm happy doing electrical repairs.

First make sure that their isnt a resetable overheat button anywhere these are usually a red button hidden somewhere if there isnt one it does look like you gas valve has gone but check it is getting voltage first before you get a new one , some are 12v and some are 240v
