how can i fix my electric fire?

i have a connect- it electric wall mounted fire which when switched on is very noisy wat can you recommend to remedy this please

The noise from our fire was the *spit roast* looking thing inside which has the silver foil effect (that makes the flame effect)
I think he put vaseline of similar on on .

Mine is a year old and has *burnt* out tonight :-(
