How do you mean "too hot", they are supposed to get hot. If they are modern slimline heaters, they regulate the input heat by the temperature of the room, ie, when the room cools down, they charge up more and when the room gets warmer they charge up less. If they are too hot, turn the auto set control (input) to a lower setting and turn the output control to minimum I have all of my heaters set at 2½ auto set control (input), and haven't changed the setting since they were installed over 10 years ago and they give out heat 24 hours a day when they need to.
