i have an ideal classic ff240 boiler which was fitted in 1998. it switches on but pilot light isnt coming on thus causing no hot water or heating, please any advice as we havent got the manual. thankyou mark harries.

This can be caused by many faults! Firstly is the fan running? if yes, then boiler may have cut out due to overheating the last time it was run.so press the reset button on the side of the boiler. Then it could be the thermocouple failed or if the pilot doesn't light then the spark generator could have failed.
