immersion heater. ?

immersion heater. Have replaced the element but only gives me small amount of hot water berfore running luke warm. Any ideas?

You've adjusted the thermostat? Did you fit an immersion heater of the same length? I believe you can get short ones which won't provide much!

don't mean to sound daft, but did you fit a long enough element. i've seen in the past people will fit a 11" element in a large tank when really it should be a 18" or 27"

Does it have an adjustable thermostat? (The live feed wire connects to it)
First make sure you haven't got a short thermostat probe in an upright cylinder. Short probes are mainly for side fitting heaters, long ones are for top fitting heaters. If you have the right one-turn the adjustable rheostat (clockwise) up to 160F, but don't forget to turn the immersion switch off first. If that doesn't work get yourself a new thermostat probe.
