the belt driven models had a wigwag coil to shift the trans to spin .check the wigwag .also the lid switch is connected to the same circuit .therefore it will wash with lid open but not spin so if you have a bad lid switch or a bad wigwag it wont spin.also the little strike that pushes the lid switch might be broken and if all thats good then the timer had a burned contact more than likely but I have seen the wigwag cut a wire in half to see if its the timer change the 2 colored wires around on the wigwag leave the whit ones in place this will make it spin in wash and wash in spin confusing aint it
