EPSON STYLUS C64?

I have installed a compatable black ink cartridge into the printer.
A message told me that my cartridge is not an original Epson.
It asked either to cancel or continue.
I clicked on continue, and now it won't print any black, text or picture.
Will I need to fit an Epson ink cartridge for it to work again.

There is nothing intelligent about these printers. There is a small chip on the cartridge that signals to the printer that the ink cartridge is new. If you continue to have problems you could invest in a chip resetter. Try www.tonik.co.uk for supplies of these. Alternatively do as a previous answer suggests and speak to Epson but tell them it's one of theirs! If you can get through...

Regarding that Epson c64 of yours ...

I had one of them, and won't buy another. Too many people having trouble with what I view to be "Cheap Jap Junk."

There was a time when Epson equated to quality - but not today.

... but they do sink rather quickly when tossed into any nearby lake ... and that's about all they're good for.
