I have tried to remove the motor from the back but no luck may be it comes out from the front but cant see any screws to undo.
The motor is loud and annoying.

the motor is difficult to access if you have no experience,if you ring dimplex they will tell you who is the nearest qualified agent. in my experience it should not cost more than 100 pounds, sorry about that its an american computer so no pound sign.

we have the same problem the motor makes a loud clicking noise even if in "effect mode" there is so many screws to undo, we had a quote from a repairer-after a very long search, £175.00 to fix the problem ! was told that the gears inside the motor are now made of plastic, which break down over time & " mesh " together causing the clicking noise, the cost of a new motor is about £40 - £ 50 quid from dimplex, we are in the process of getting a new fire ( same one ) from john lewis.com as in the longer term think its the cheaper option.
