How do i use a multimeter to test for voltage and continuity from a pcb,?

I need to test the air pressure swich on my boiler,i havn't a clue how to use a multimeter, ie settings / voltage....can you help it is urgent as my kids need a bath and i can't afford a heating engineer...

Sorry to take so long but I thought that some one would answer this. Sorry again to be blunt but if you don't know how to use a multimeter you should not be monkeying with a heater - it is dangerous.
