recover windows 95 using dos?

i have just up graded from win95 to 2000, only 2000 has not installed all the files, the disk was damaged so i need to put 95 back on. i was told that i could use dos to set it back to the last set up, but not how can anyone tell me how i know its on the hard drive somwere but i'm not shure of the comand line to enter in dos ( it don't boot to windows now just get an errer message that 2000 has not been installed corectly.

You'll need a 95 startup disk to get you to a command prompt. Before that, be sure your CMOS is set to "boot to floppy." From there (if you remember DOS well enough) you'll need to look around for the .cab files. You're hoping for a setup.exe file in that folder, and not just the .cab's. Since you're running 95, maybe you can find DOSSHELL. At least it will be some sort of gui. You can get a decent list of DOS commands from a multitude of websites.
