I have a Baxi Solo 2 boiler. The overheat light comes on after lots of banging of the pipes. It's really noisy - can you help please!

There could be various things wrong. Get an engineer in!! first check the following
1 Check that your header tank is not empty, in the loft (the smallest tank) assuming it is a open vented system. If it is empty your system has filled with air and will need venting after fixing the header tank (stuck ballcock or blocked pipes usually the cause)
Bleed your rads, with the boiler and heating off, start at the bottom and work your way up to the top floor, us a dish to catch any water..good luck, post again if it does not solve the problem
