my 8 year old modena 102 runs scading hot water even after all thermostats, boards and gas flow valve have seen changed and water temperature turned down to lowest setting, anyone got any ideas

Not sure of this boiler, but if you have a separate water tank for hot water, usually in the airing cupboard, there is a thermostat located about a third from the bottom of the tank (a small white box held on with a strap) select a lower temp by moving the arrow to lower setting, may need to use a flat screw driver. Usually set to about 60-66 deg.
