TV box not working?

My Sagem TV box flashes orange and green all the time and so my TV will not get a picture.

It happened since a message on the screen said - update.

What can I do?

I just thought you might like to know that I turned my freeview on today and the "FONCTIONNALITIES" message appeared again

So I pressed Ex and it turned itself off, I turned it back on and pressed Ex again and it turned off again so I had no choice but to press Ok.........yeah NO FREEVIEW! I'm going back to Sagem about this and I'll let you know but I know one thing, I will never buy Sagem again.

Was this the prompt you saw on the screen?:

If so, this is the message I received and, after leaving it for about an hour in fear of not turning it off as instructed, the same thing happened, the led flashed but no picture.

I went to their website and I found that there is an expensive helpline number.....don't ring it. I contacted the head office in the UK and they said that as it was out of warranty there was nothing they could do but I didn't stand for this as it was Sagem who prompted me to do it (although the awful spelling in the message should have made me more cautious!!) I found an email address on their site (somehow) and I managed to get them to arrange a collection of my original box in exchange for a new one. However, good old Sagem, this one didn't even turn on! I contacted them again and they exchanged another. Up until yesterday this one was working fine then I pressed the red button for some interactive and then I got the same thing happen as in the other Sagem post, the box returned to channel 303 and when trying to change the channel, it just turned itself off! This was then corrected by pressing 001 for the cahnnel and forcing it to BBC.

I have now turned the box on today and the same "FONCTINNALITIES" message appeared......I pressed EX to exit instead of OK to run it, I was not taking a second chance! Go back direct to the manufacturer like I did. This is an issue which was only caused by you following instructions from the manufacturers product therefore, they should take responsability.
I wish you the best of luck with it........A Sagem owner only buys Sagem once in their lifetime!

By TV box I sssume that you mean a Set Top Box of some description e.g. Cable, Sat, or DTT (Freeview in the UK).

It sounds like your box was trying to install new software and failed. As they are all different you need to look at your maniual to see if you can force a new download/install.

Unfortunately it may well have corrupted the internal software and be irretrievable by DIY means. This is the type of fault that occurs when you interrupt a download/install.
