My samsung T220HD 24" will not turn on straight away with the remote?

Hi, We have had the TV for one year and about 4 months ago We started having problems turning on the TV with the remote and the touch button on the screen. The red light flashes on but then nothing happens. The batteries have been changed. It takes many frustrating attempts before the TV comes on. Please do you have any suggestions of what we can do to fix this, as once the TV does eventually turn on, all is fine.

it is a capacitor on the power board, if you open up the unit you can see a capacitor has bulged, quite an easy fix if you are handy with a soldering iron and quite a common problem with these.

you can press the try to turn on the tv pressing it but it won't so it's a mess, I'm about to throw this tv off the window and get a new one

hi jeff it is not really a switch, it is a touch screen on the tv or you can use the power button on the remote. It seems to need to warm up and takes many attempts pressing either the touch icon on the screen or remote watching the red light flash once, needs to flash twice to activate the the tv on. Also we always turn the tv off at the wall every night would this affect the tv?

Many thanks

To jeff, the problem is with the TV. The ON button on the tv is touch screen. It flashes red but takes ages to flash twice to turn on.

think the fault is your tv switch, does the tv switch on when you press the switch manually?
