if there are lots of clicks thats your ignitor trying to ignite.
you say its not doing this so that suggests your ignitor isnt working.

thanks again chris,after the fan comes on there is a click but its not like the click a cooker makes when itrs sparking up to light.

hi chris thanks for getting back to me . yes i turn the water or heating on, the fan comes on theres a click and thats it , the pilot does not light.
