Does the green power light blink off and on? If so, it is usually the capacitors that have failed. Perhaps Google 'green light of death'. I replaced mine a few years ago after finding a website that described exactly how to do this. Need to take care of soldering new ones in. I bought new ones, with higher capacity, at Radio Shack...not expensive.
