my ps2 controllers do what they want?

BOTH of my ps2 controllers do odd things when i try playing games with them. one of them automatically makes me run to the left in circles and the other one automattically makes me jump and the xbutton doesnt respond. can sombody help me? is this a problem with the controller port? if so is there a way to clean it or does it need to be replaced?

Buy new controllers. The sensors inside yours sound like they are worn out and the controller will never work properly again. PS2 controllers do not last very long under heavy use.

The first thing I would suspect would be the controller and then the controller port membrane (the connecting cable between the ports and main circuit board) if both control ports have problems.
