Ariston Microgenus 27 PCB problems?

I have an Ariston microgenus 27 (ten years old) and the PCB board has blown on it. I've a replacement from Ariston (genuine part 65101732), used eeprom 1 (as stated by Ariston) plugged in and turned it on, but no LED's, nothing happens (well the transformer get warm, but no LED on the front of the board an nothing else happens).
This apparently should be just plug and play, so any other ideas would be most welcome. cheers

used eeprom 1 sounds to me like a repaired board! Perhaps not repaired properly even if it is a genuine part!
